Our Game Ideas

Positive Pages

  • Get a sheet of paper and divide it into four equal boxes.
  • Write a team member’s name on each box.
  • You may use several sheets of paper depending on the size of your team.
  • Combine the sheets with names to make a booklet.
  • After that, each member will take turns writing positive notes about the person whose name is written on the paper.
  • Once everyone is finished, collect the booklets and group them by name.
  • Give each member the page with notes written about them.

The Human Knot

  • Have your team stand in a circle, shoulder to shoulder.
  • Each person reaches in with their right hand, then grabs someone else’s hand.
  • This will be repeated with the left hand.
  • The group must unite the knot without releasing anyone’s hand.
  • This is a good activity to nurture team communication and collaboration.

Circle Laugh

Lie down in a circle with your team members’ heads on each other’s stomachs and laugh.

Turn Over a New Leaf

  • Find a “magic carpet,” which typically is a piece of tarpaulin or small cloth that is 4’ x 5’ in size.
  • The team must turn over the carpet without the clothing touching the ground.
  • This activity will test your group’s ability to communicate while working in close quarters.

Get To Know Your Teammates

  • Write questions on a sheet of paper, then put them in a basket.
  • Some questions you can write are:
    • Who do you look up to?
    • What is your dream job?
    • If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
  • Each member will draw a question from the basket and must answer it honestly.

Limbo Contest

You already know the rules.

Stepping Stones

  • Make a path of paper plates that leads from one side of the room to the other.
  • Divide your people into teams.
  • Give certain players obstacles, such as one leg, blindfolded, etc.
  • Groups must help each other get to the other side of the room without touching the ground.

Beach Volleyball

  • Inflate a beach ball.
  • Divide your people into groups (e.g. freshmen and sophomores).
  • See which team can keep the ball up for a long time.

Do-It-Yourself Fashion

  • Divide your people into teams.
  • Give each team a variety of supplies.
  • Each group must create an outfit for one member within 5 minutes.
  • After everyone is finished, have a fashion show featuring all of their creations.

Hula-Hoop Contest

See who can hula the longest!

Friends’ Favorites

  • Make a list of categories. This may include different topics, such as favorite TV show, vacation spot, teacher, color, store, etc.
  • Let each team member fill it out.
  • Collect all lists.
  • Read each list one by one and have everyone guess the writer’s identity.

Embarrassing Moments

  • Have your members write down their embarrassing moments on a piece of paper.
  • Collect the sheets.
  • Read each moment and let your team guess whose it is.

Mystery Snacks

  • Divide your people into teams.
  • Blindfold one person from each group.
  • Challenge them to identify different kinds of snacks.
  • Keep score.

Pillowcase Hop

This is a contest where members step in a pillowcase to hop in a relay race.

Scavenger Hunt

  • Make a list.
  • Divide your people into groups.
  • Set a time limit.
  • The group with the most items at the end of the hunt is the winner.

Sleeping Bag Races

  • Have members lay in sleeping bags.
  • Let them wiggle in a shuttle relay race style.

Sleeping Bag Secret

  • Scatter sleeping bags on the floor.
  • Choose one person to be the “it.”
  • Have that person go outside.
  • Let each group member get inside someone else’s sleeping bag.
  • Cover up excluding one exposed body part.
  • Let the “it” come inside to guess who’s who.
